Same Night,
Different Pressure
Every Thursday night in Galway City, students and young adults gather in the City Centre for a ‘Night Out.’ Many will go clubbing for different purposes, not the least of which is drinking. Some perceive bars and clubs as primo locations to attract other people for sexual encounters. While many (if not most) people go out just to have fun with their friends, the potential for a flirty interaction with somebody pervades what constitutes the unspoken standards for how one should appear on a night out. Nor.Mal took to the streets of Galway to see how people feel this pressure and who the majority of burden is placed upon.
