Trans Body: A Portrait Series with River
This intimate portrait series explores the trans body through photographs of River, who also performs as drag queen Laryngitis. While River uses drag as a form of self-expression in their performance work, this shoot focuses purely on their body as it exists outside of costume and character. The portraits capture River in their most authentic state, creating space to explore what it means to live in a trans body navigating a world built for the gender binary. Honest and unfiltered, these images move beyond the performative to show the person underneath. This isn't about transformation or spectacle. It's about presence, visibility, and the quiet reality of existing as yourself when the world expects something else.
